Work through these in order. Most eSIMs connect after step 1 or 2.
1. Turn on data roaming for the esimjia line
Your phone treats the eSIM as a line from abroad, so it needs roaming on.
- iPhone:
Settings › Mobile Service › esimjia › Data Roaming - Android:
Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › esimjia › Roaming
2. Make esimjia the line for mobile data
- iPhone:
Settings › Mobile Service › Mobile Data, then choose the esimjia line. - Android:
Settings › Network & internet › SIMs, then set the esimjia line for mobile data.
Check that the esimjia line itself is switched on, too.
3. Restart the connection
Turn aeroplane mode on for ten seconds, then off. Still nothing? Restart the phone.
4. Choose a network by hand
Your phone may keep trying a network the eSIM can’t use. Pick one yourself:
- iPhone:
Settings › Mobile Service › esimjia › Network Selection. Turn off Automatic and choose a network. - Android:
Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › esimjia. Turn off Automatically select network and choose one.
Your eSIM’s page lists its networks under Network. Once you’re online, you can switch back to automatic.
5. Check where you are, and what’s left
The eSIM only works in the countries its plan covers. A Czechia eSIM won’t connect in Austria, for example. Your eSIM’s page also shows if the data has run out or the plan has ended.
Still nothing?
Write to us with your order reference (it starts with EJ-), the country you’re in and your phone’s model. A screenshot of the esimjia line’s settings helps.
