Install at home, on Wi-Fi, before you go. Open your eSIM’s page from the email we sent or from your order link.
On the iPhone you’re taking
- Open your eSIM’s page on that iPhone.
- Tap Install on this iPhone and follow the steps. There’s nothing to scan.
This needs iOS 17.4 or later. On an older version, use the QR code below.
From another screen
- Open your eSIM’s page on a computer or another phone. It shows a QR code.
- On the iPhone, go to
Settings › Mobile Service › Add eSIM. Some iPhones sayCellularinstead ofMobile Service. - Tap Use QR Code and scan it.
Can’t scan? Tap Enter Details Manually on the iPhone. On your eSIM’s page, tap Enter the details by hand and copy the SM-DP+ address and activation code.
When the iPhone asks about your lines
- Label: name the new line “esimjia”, or something you’ll recognise.
- Default line for calls and messages: your own SIM, so your number stays the same.
- Mobile data: the esimjia line. Leave Allow Mobile Data Switching off, so your own SIM never takes over data abroad.
When you land
- Go to
Settings › Mobile Serviceand tap the esimjia line. - Turn on Data Roaming.
It connects within a minute or two. If it doesn’t, see If it doesn’t connect.
When your 30 days start
They start when the eSIM first connects to a network, not when you install it, so installing early costs you nothing. Install within six months of buying.
Live where the plan works, such as a Europe plan in Europe? Turn the esimjia line off in Settings until you leave. Otherwise it could connect at home and start its days early.
Trip off? Cancel it for credit, as long as it has never connected.
Don’t delete the eSIM from your phone while you still need it. It may not install again, so ask us first.
